The Look of Paradise

From Paul: I wrote this song about my father, John. He was an enigma within himself, a hard man to figure out inside. I would remember as a child just watching him sit on his swing and hum songs that didn't exist. I wonder if perhaps he was writing in his mind? At any rate, he was very talented and has a sweet tenor voice. Pity he never did anything with it.

All Wrongs Avenged!

Ever since his younger days
He’d sit and sing the nights away
Finding solace in the moon
And dream of things he’d like to do
Rhythm swaying to and fro
And hum a tune that only he would know
But never to conceive
That he would ever want to leave
Cause even though the world would change around him
He could keep a level head and shine a smile
For as long as he was singing to his own song
He would have the Look of Paradise in his eyes.

Sit a while if you inclined
To hear his song and ease your mind
Then and there you will agree
That there’s no other place to be
And if you start to sing a tune
To find the Paradise inside of you
You will finally realize
Peace you cannot compromise
Cause even though the world will change around you
You can keep a level head and shine a smile
For as long as you are singing to your own song
You will have the Look of Paradise in your eyes.

Ever since my younger days
I’d sit and sing the nights away
Finding solace in the moon
And dream of things I’d like to do
They say the apple won’t fall far
But you should be just who you think you are
So this part of him is me
A better man I’ll never be
Cause even though the world will change around me
I can keep a level head and shine a smile
For as long as I am singing to my own song
I will have the Look of Paradise in my eyes

For as long as we are singing to our own song
We will have the Look of Paradise in our eyes
