Hospital Food

From Paul: This is the first song of the new album Songs You Can Live With, that we hop to release around Christmas Time. I love this song because it is very, very lighthearted, and a bit fun. The premise of the album is to bring some enjoyment and reflection for the ill, so I think that we got off to a great start. No offense intended to the wonderful people at DUMC who brought my son and us our food!

All Wrongs Avenged!

What is this blob of brown stuff that they’ve put on my plate?
I’m feeling sort of queasy, must have been something I ate.
If I describe the texture I would say it’s like a shoe
Please don’t make me eat this, cause it’s Hospital Food

They mush it all together and the chef he calls it meat.
But it smells like something crusty on the bottom of my feet.
It’s sticking to my plate ‘cause of the nuking that they do
That’s what it’s like when you are stuck with Hospital Food

Chorus
Hospital Food is what really makes me sick.
Not the chemo or the needles or the medicines they pick.
Ask any patient and they’ll all tell you the truth
The worst thing about being here is Hospital Food

I’d rather have a burger from McDonalds or the King
Spaghetti O’s or Dominos is something you could bring
I’d even take a meal from some big airline if I could choose
Cause I’d be flying far away from this Hospital Food

Now I’m not saying everything they’ve given me is bad
It’s hard to mess up Jello or the sodas that I’ve had.
Short of that a starving dog would pass up on it too.
There’s nothing quite as yucky as this Hospital Food

Chorus x 2

The worst thing about being here is
Hospital Food
Hospital Food
Hospital Food
