Alexa

From Paul: This song to me is probably one of the hardest that I have ever written. It is about a young girl who was in the room next to my son's at Duke. She had the same type of cancer as he, but it was metastasized, meaning that it was throughout her body. Our two families shared many moments together as we did with several other families. In late August, this little girl lost her battle with the disease, and although we are saddened that she is no longer with us, we find joy in the fact that she is no longer in pain and has found happiness.

All Wrongs Avenged!

Did you know what you’ve done to me?
And everyone who had the chance to see
Who you are.
So enchanted by your smile.
Captivated by the sparkle in your eyes.
I will not forget.

And did you know you found that special place?
Inside my heart you live and fill the empty space
With your love.
Always trying to believe
Hoping life would stay that you would never leave.
As hard as it would get

Devastated when I heard that you were gone,
But elated cause I knew that you were home.

Alexa you’re like venus
Immortalized by memories of love you leave behind.
Forever on my mind.
Your sacrifice and sorrow
Have ended but I have to wonder why you couldn’t stay.
Did it have to be this way?
Oh, Alexa, why did you have to go?

There’s a special place in Heaven just for you.
For every sacrifice and all that you went through.
And maybe someday when I see you once again,
You’ll flash that smile at me and time will never end.

Alexa you’re like venus
Immortalized by memories of love you leave behind.
Forever on my mind.
Your sacrifice and sorrow
Have ended but I have to wonder why you couldn’t stay.
Did it have to be this way?
Oh, Alexa, why did you have to go?
Alexa you’re like venus
